Imperium
An imperium was the form of power that any dictator, consul, etc. was given. In Latin Imperium means "command empire" (source:http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/284011/imperium)
If you had Imperium power then you were in charge of basically everything in a Roman state including judicial power and military.
Censor
Censors were elected officials who were originally in charge of Roman citizens but later their roles expanded and became responsible for overseeing the senators actions. There was never one censor, there was always two and they held office for normally about 5 years. Originally only Patricians could be Censors but as time went on Plebeians started becoming Censors too.
Aedile
Aediles were like tribunes. Both Tribunes and Aediles were created as Plebeian officials. The Aediles looked over the city and made sure things were safe and repaired things that were old, unsafe, or broken. They also made sure everyone got a fair amount of food and supplies in markets. They also organized some of the games held by Plebeians and also could give fines.
Dictator
Dictators held very high power in the Roman Government. A dictator was only needed and elected in times of crisis with a war or anything involving the military. Dictators had very short terms of six months besides when Julius Caesar was elected Dictator for life. Sadly at the end Caesar was killed by the Senate. But this is a lesson of why someone with so much power should only serve for a short period of time.
